The Clerk of Circuit Court is the local government agency that may accept applications for US Passports. That application is passed on to the US Department of State for review, and is then issued or denied. If the passport is issued, it will be returned to the applicant by US Mail. If the application is denied the applicant will be contacted by the Department of State
 
Applying for a New Passport
 
An appointment is not needed to process your passport application. However, due to the length of time required to process an application and it's accompanying paperwork, we ask that you arrive at our office by 4:00 PM.
 
You must bring the following documentation with you:

Click here to get started on your passport application. You will need to bring a printed copy of the application and the required documentation listed above. Do not sign your application, the application must be signed in the presence of a Deputy Clerk at the time of filing.
