The Clerk of Circuit Court is the Marriage License issuing agent for the State. We have provided the most important information as it pertains to obtaining a Marriage License through the Union County Clerk of Circuit Court.

 

When applying for a marriage license both applicants must be present to complete your application. Each person will need to provide the following information:

 

  • Photo ID (i.e. Drivers License, Passport, etc.)

  • Social Security Number

  • Place of Birth

  • Applicants with children in common must provide for each child:

    • Full Name

    • Date of Birth

    • Place of Birth

  • Applicants who have been previously married must provide

    • Date the most recent marriage ended

 

A 3 Day waiting period will apply to all applications when a premarital course has not been taken. The waiting period does not apply when both parties are Non-Florida residents.

  

Marriage to an incarcerated person

 

We are unable to issue marriage licenses to any individual unable to personally appear in the Clerk’s office, per Florida Statute 741.03. 

 

Marriage License Fees

 

  • License without Premarital Course - $93.50*

    • 3 Day waiting period applies when applicants have not completed a premarital course.

  • License with Premarital Course - $61.00*

    • Premarital course provider must be registered with the Union County Clerk of Circuit Court.

 

Marriage License Important Information

 

  • Marriage Licenses are valid for 60 days from the date of issuance

  • Extensions for expired marriage licenses CAN NOT be made

  • Licenses must be returned to the clerks office to be recorded in Official Records.

  • It is recommended that the license be returned within 30 days from the date of the marriage

 

Wedding Ceremonies at the Union County Courthouse

 

Effective October 1, 2014, the Union County Clerk of Circuit Court no longer performs wedding ceremonies.
